Wikipedia - people page - what's wrong?

Recently I got to be highly skeptical about the future and quality of the Wikipedia, especially on the article about people.

Problem

  • People from West create pages for the "winners" of a TV show and think it's perfectly ok--as those "winners" do deserve the Wikipedia page

  • People from India create pages on "bloggers" and "cinema people". They think that it's perfectly ok to have them featured. People like Vilayanur S. Ramachandran have decent page and where as notable people like Dr.C.N.Deivanayagam are absolutely ignored.

  • If the trend is continuing, some college topper may get a page in Wikipedia and... heck everyone may get a article just like a profile page

Humble Award - Dr. A.N. Sreevatsan

Dr. A.N. Sreevatsan , ENT specialist located in Adyar, Chennai is one of the gems available in medicines. No assistants in his consulting room and he'd take at least 15mins for every patients. So far I have referred many and all are happy with his approach. Every wannabe doctor should visit him personally to understand his approach. I wish him to be more famous than now. Update (2010-11-21) : Added link to Google Map Keywords : Sreevatsan, Srivatsan, ENT, Adyar, Chennai, Hospital, Doctor

PHP 10 miles

It's glad to know PHP is been alive for 10 years. PHP originally written by 27-year-old Rasmus Lerdorf and released in June 8, 1995 is now in PHP 5.0.4. I think, I hadn't seen any computers when PHP 1.0 was released (in 1995). My memory says I picked PHP around late 2000 or early 2001. One important thing I have noticed at this time is: PHP 1.0 wasn't a bunch of Perl scripts as many often quote; it was " set of small tight cgi binaries written in C " Links news: 3r7pgp$aa1@ionews.io.org Announcing the Personal Home Page Tools (PHP Tools) version 1.0.
