Java is dead?

During my college days, I had a gut feeling that Java would die pretty soon, but it wasn't. My reasons were:

Java was locking me down on unnecessary OOP
Too lengthy programming as in C++
Slow JVM

After long time, my gut feeling is becoming true with reason #2 mentioned above. This space is now getting bitten by:

Scala (pronounced skaa-lah or skey-lah)
Clojure (pronounced closure)

About 30 years ago, when I first joined a college in Madurai after growing up in other places, I experienced a few cultural shocks. After seeing feature rich options in Imagick PECL extension at Mikko Koppanen 's (the author) website and also impressed with ImageMagick 's features, I have decided to use it for the PSD to XHTML conversion website that I'm architecting and managing. Shaping the Future: My Hopes and Dreams for My Children

I believe every parent has their own hopes for what their children might become, often shaped by personal experiences or insecurities. For instance, a janitor may wish for his child to achieve the success of his boss, and so on. My aspirations for my children stem from my own life and career experiences.
