Groupon - Next move?

Sometime ago, I blogged Groupon is chasing GroupDeal, the group buying software platform developed by our team and powers many competitor sites.

Groupon has chased our self servicing platform and introduced as Groupon 2.0/stores. In that concept, to overcome the whitelabel group buying platforms, they have offered 2 types of self-services: promoting via groupon with 30% commission and promoting to followers with 10% commission--eventually focusing everyone to use their defacto platform.

Unlike groupon, as we have already added friends module, what could be groupon's next move after adding self service platform? I have an answer:-)

Dr. A.N. Sreevatsan , ENT specialist located in Adyar, Chennai is one of the gems available in medicines. No assistants in his consulting room and he'd take at least 15mins for every patients. So far I have referred many and all are happy with his approach. Every wannabe doctor should visit him personally to understand his approach. I wish him to be more famous than now. Barefoot Steve Jobs and British slaves...

Steve Jobs , CEO of Apple Inc sometimes walk in barefoot in their comapus (I don't know, how I missed this earlier!). They're able to use/market it to differentiate themselves. Whenever some newcomer or new manager--influenced by British colonial rule, visits our team, they complain about barefoot and casual dressed hackers. For years, I have been defending that they're not intentional but they're geekish. Had I known this earlier, I would have compared Apple Inc culture with our team! Not to mention that our Online Marketing Manager (who's from London but working in Chennai) never wears suit or tie. He once told me that he wears suit only on Christmas dinner and for funeral.
